Actor Keanu Reeves, who's going to make his directorial debut in the upcoming action movie called MAN OF TAI CHI, due 2013, has picked Chinese superstar Zhang Ziyi to act alongside with him. The movie is expected to begin filming in Beijing next year.
Reeves has apparently liked Ziyi's performance in 2000's CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, and her improved English ability is good enough to land her the role. In fact Ziyi proves to be a top choice over Zhou Xun.
MAN OF TAI CHI will be shot in Mandarin and English, and feature Reeves as the villain and Tiger Chen (THE MATRIX) is cast as the other leading actor.
Reeves will fly to Beijing next month to prepare for the movie where he will have to learn taichi, karate and boxing.
